Project 1: Form & Function
Altogether, our first project was meant as an exercise in understanding form, and how to change it to fit a function required.
In particular, we used bridges as a way of practicing. After finding ones that were proper for our mission, we then used movement analogies to try and change it so that way we would be able to fit a boat of a certain height through it. This is a clear representation of taking a previously made structure and adjusting it to better fit our needs.
The following are the bridges used to further this project, as well as the drawing adaptations.

Next, we took pictures of household items and turned them into proper movement analogies.

As the final part of our concept invention, we mapped out our bridges and movement analogies to come up with an original idea.
Next, we created our preliminary design.
Finally, we edited it and created our final bridge based on what we needed.
